PALINDROME

By the time you wake
And clear the chances by the by
There’ll be no more time to right mistakes
Like a stones throw as the heart awaits

Hold on
Tomorrows just another day away

Like palindromes and and hollowed files in the way
The arm breaks to the fallen branches mistake
Funny how all the things you meant to say
Are like a stones throw as the heart awaits

Hold on
Tomorrows just another day away

LOST IN THE WAY

Lost in the way
You carry yourself
In some kind of way
Where you know me too well
Keeping away
From all undo hell

Please stay

Lost in the way
No reason or rhyme
The heart never strays
Calling to mind
The things that we say
In-between the lines

 Please stay

SINK OR SWIM

Always running too hard
That’s the way we always fall apart
But holding on for the most part

Talking points on guard
Looking out for the ways we fall apart
While holding on to the false starts

 And I’ll guess
We’ll sink of swim
Can’t find a reason to wait
And I’ll guess
We’ll sink of swim
Hold in our breath for the best

HABITRAIL

There’s a light on the corner
By the house with a better view
Where tired eyes don’t wonder
Down this marked avenue
Reshuffle the caps
As friends file through
At the end of the day
Your neighbors won’t pull through

Reshuffle the eyes
Who can deny
(This) loop in your habitrail

A plain in review
no canon no stairs
Crack out the padlocks
Shudder the glares
This newspaper trail
From driveways lost view
A doorway down
From this marked avenue

Reshuffle the knives / burn out the eyes
Who can deny
(This) loop in your habitrail

ONCE IN AWHILE

Slightly out of range and out of place
As the heart moves in forgotten ways
How can I explain?
how nothings the same
don't tell me why do we change with every passing day
once in awhile

Writing all along the end of the page
Starting all angles on the endless way
How can I explain?
Do you feel the same?
Strange how the words can’t refrain
This beautiful change
once in awhile

THE PASSING DAYS

Somewhere lost in the moment
Call to our sense
Of flailing around
Been caught up in the hold ups
Taking your stance
In the present tense of

The passing days of how we lost our way

You hold out for good reason
Walking it off with no one around
To carry on your shoulders
Comping your days
To the harrier sounds of

The passing days of how we lost our way

 DIRECTOR

The office director
On holiday
Left to comptroller
To work through their pay
While the assistants
Find some kind of ways
Of shouldering work loads
And staying too late

Always in motion - for the promotion

It came from receiving
A note from the state
They pulled the receipts
And left nothing to waste
While in the mailroom
An envelope waits
Harboring secrets
He meant to display

Always in motion – for the promotion

 WORDS FOR WAR

I’ve seen it before
and I won’t turn away
holding on all cost
for some brighter day
what happened before
won’t stand today
it’s going to be a bad break

with all that’s in store
holding onto the ways
the cutting room floor
has been swept away
the words for the war – it’s time to fade

but it’s going to be a bad break

ALONG FOR A RIDE

Emotion in time
Two into fail
This man’s got something to sell
If only his heart will tell

We’re two at a time caught in the rain
Man, that’s some kind of pain
If only his heart will embrace

Lost in doubt and I found out
In a way I feel for you now
Lost in doubt but I found out
We’re along for a ride

A motive in time
Doomed into fail
man, that’s some kind of sell
If only his heart will tell
We’re two at a time
And caught out in the rain
Man, that’s some kind of mistake
If only his heart will embrace

Lost in doubt and I found out
In a way I feel for you now
Lost in doubt but I found out
We’re along for a ride

THE SUM OF ALL FEARS

To all in the noose at the end of the day
Know it all along
Seen it on your face
Just what went wrong
And to fall into place
Don’t look away

To the ones who believed and the ones who have known
Withering along
and I’ve seen how you’ve grown
I can’t believe just how its been
All of the wounds and the fears of what might’ve been
The sum of all fears of the years of what might’ve been
The ringing in the ears all the fears of what might’ve been

 Settle down
In familiar place
In a call to defense
But you’re flailing away
and wanting off the fence
And I can’t turn away
from the lines of expense
or look away

There comes a time in the town where you once have known
But I can’t believe how you’ve (just) moved on
It seems at least seven years since I’ve been in this hole
In all of the years of the fears of what might’ve been
The sum of all fears in the years of what might’ve been
The ringing in the ears all the fears of what might’ve been

CASTING SATELLITES

Along the drive late one night
Turning over the miles
no end in site
Holding down as cars pass by
Rearview reflecting light

Keeping all the thoughts in line
Cross meridian pull off towards the side
holding onto the ways to realize
how tethered hearts still keep in time

the constellation to satellite
we too can move at different times
keeping all our paths inline
no weathered down or end in sight

love to see you as you shine
gravitational pull and guiding light
navigate this darkest night
as tethered hearts still keep in time
